There are many false friends in the English language. We're going to focus on 5 false friends we see again and again in our Theatre in English classes.
2. Scenery. El escenario in English is the STAGE. Scenery is what you see outside your car window as you drive. The SET is the walls and furniture you put on a stage to create the SETTING of the play.
3. Carpet. You put your script in a FOLDER.
4. Interpret. Interpretar in English is ACT or PERFORM.
5. Disguise. Although you may wear a disguise (disfraz) on Halloween or during Carnaval, on the stage you wear a COSTUME.
